Muay Thai but blind!

David Black our cook and resident martial artist is at it again – this time he has taken up Muay Thai, showing that sight loss is no barrier to sports and activities if you really want to take part.

David began losing his sight at age 13 as he has hereditary eye condition Retinitis Pigmentosa (RP) however he is a big fan of martial arts, having previously practised Judo, Akido and other forms of martial art, he is now adding Muay Thai to his repertoire training with Base Muay Thai Gym.

You can see some videos of David in action here https://www.facebook.com/base.muaythai/posts/1694857920586106

David’s self defence classes are open once again for new students. If you would be interested in training with David at the Centre, please email sensory@forthvalleysensorycentre.org
