Welcome to our new Technology Hub!

Developed in 2020, the Technology Hub replaced the old Resource Area. We recognised a few years ago, that more and more people were coming to ask for support, not with physical aids like liquid level indicators but with digital devices. This included getting online, accessing local services like booking special uplifts from the council, making video calls to friends and family and simply staying safe/avoiding scams.

The Technology Hub has meeting spots, tables, chairs and sofas and benefits from our WiFi connection. A large wipe clean wall provides a great spot for creative sessions. Please get in touch if this is a space you would like to make use of. We also have our Tiny Tablet, essentially a huge Android device which can be used for presentations or accessing the internet on a large touchscreen.

We have regular IT Classes with Tom Paterson every week on a Tuesday from 1pm-3pm and 3pm-5pm, Thursday 1pm-3pm, and Friday 1pm-3pm. These classes are an introduction to digital devices and basic computing and perfect for those with sight conditions who are worried about getting online. See our groups page for more information.

We still offer advice on physical assistance devices too! We occasionally have donated stock but are always willing to offer advice on items we know have worked for others. If you'd like to shop directly from our partner, please click here for their online shop.
