Guide Communicators Needed

Deaflbind Scotland are looking to recruit trainee Guide Communicators in Central Scotland. Applicants need to have some BSL skills but do not have to have been trained as Guide Communicators.

The position is open to anyone currently working in social care or who might have trained to provide BSL and then not followed a career in interpreting. Guide Communicators help deafblind adults get out and about, providing communication support as well as mobility in the form of guiding and information help, such as passing on written or spoken information on any relevant topics.

The work is very rewarding for the right person.

Starting salary £9.71 per hour, both sessional and fixed hour contracts available

Training in Guiding and Communication Tactics is provided.
