A Plan for Falkirk – Hearing from People with Disabilities

We all know things are difficult just now. Everyone is experiencing serious challenges on a daily basis. COVID-19 continues to have a huge impact on people’s lives. Work undertaken by Falkirk Community Planning Partnership tells us that levels of inequality and different types of disadvantage have increased. We want to know how we can support individuals and families to overcome these challenges.

Focusing on Vulnerable Groups

In particular, we want to focus on the most vulnerable in our communities. We know that people with disabilities face unique circumstances and challenges, and that these issues can sometimes get lost in the bigger picture. We want to hear from anyone affected by a disability:

• People with disabilities
• Family members
• Support workers

We’ll use what you tell us to develop the ‘Falkirk Plan’ – a ten-year plan, that will use your priorities to make our communities better for everyone. Here’s what we want to know:

• What challenges are people facing?
• What are your priorities?
• How can the organisations in the Community Planning Partnership (i.e., Falkirk Council, the Health and Social Care Partnership, CVS Falkirk, NHS Forth Valley, Police Scotland etc.) work with communities to improve services?
• How can the Community Planning Partnership communicate better with communities to ensure what we’re doing meets the real needs of people and groups?

We’re holding an online meeting to capture your views and priorities on:

Tues 18^th May from 7-19pm

Monday 24^th May from 7-9pm

We’re trying to find solutions that will help people who are struggling the most. If you’ve got something to say about your community, and about what can be done to make it better, we want to hear from you.
