Unfortunately we’ve had to cancel the Easter Quiz that was due to take place on Thursday this week due to lack of interest, however we still have a chance to win a Samsung Galaxy Tablet-it only costs £1 for one strip of £5 for 6 strips for your chance to win!
Please note the Centre will be closed on Friday 7th and Monday 10th April. We will reopen at the usual time on Tuesday 11th.
Monday there is a VisionZone Open Day taking place in the halls from 10am-2pm. There will be exhibitors with different assistive technologies and information stands on Sight Loss as well. This is open to all, why not pop in to have a look around, and then stop by our cafe for some refreshments!
Voices Off British Sign Language Class is on this evening from 6.30pm-7.30pm. This is a laidback way to learn and practice BSL. If you are interested in learning more about this particular group please contact Allan at allan.simpson@falkirk.gov.uk. This class is free.
There will be no IT Classes this week due to college holidays, they will return 11th April.
Wednesday our BSL Group will meet at their usual time from 12.30pm-2.30pm. This group is for deaf BSL speakers, and they love a bit of Bingo as well as a good old blether!
Also on Wednesday our Art Group will be on from 1.15pm-3.15pm. These sessions are led by art tutor, Val Martin, and cost £5 which covers materials and tutelage. As many of our group members have sight loss, many of the things we work on are tactile. There is an interpreter available for these sessions.
Slimming World also meet on Wednesday from 5pm-9pm, drop in is available. For more information on this group please contact Sandra on 07803 172441.
There will be no Braille Class this week as it is the college holidays. This class will return on the 20th April.
The FVSC Volunteer led Voices off class will meet on Thursday from 11am-12.30pm. This group is open to anyone who would like to learn or practice British Sign Language. They will now be meeting weekly. There is no fee for this group.
The Centre will be closed on Friday so there will be no groups running on this date, nor Monday 10th April.
A reminder as well that the Sensory Room is open to the public every day for one hour sessions, these cost £6 regardless of area travelled from, to book contact Rowan at 01324 590888 or sensory@forthvalleysensorycentre.org.
