We had a busy week last week, with three successful days at Parliament, a tactile voting trial, and groups and classes going ahead as usual! This week we’re making out first steps into Clacks, and some firm favourites are back too. Remember our cafe is open to the public Monday-Friday 9am-3pm, and our Sensory Garden opens its gates on weekdays from 9am-5pm, why not pop in for a visit!
On Monday the Choir are in from 10.30am-12pm. This group is open to all, and is led by Catriona Lang. The group enjoys a variety of different songs, and though we have no performances lined up at the moment, this group is a great way to warm up the vocal chords and have a jolly singalong! Session costs £5.
The lip-reading peer support group will also be back on Monday, from 11am-1pm. This group is for people who would like to practice their lip-reading in a quiet social environment.
Our Knit and Natter group also returns on Monday from 1pm-3pm. This group love a blether just as much as they love knitting! Suitable for beginners as well as experts, we have volunteers who can assist with knitting and crochet as well. An interpreter is available for these sessions.
The Lip-reading class will be back this evening as well. These sessions are led by lip-reading Tutor Jill Bradshaw and are weekly from 4pm-6pm.
The Monday Voices Off class will not be on this evening. The group will return on the 6th March.
On Tuesday we are excited to be making our first steps into Clackmannanshire! We will be meeting at Alloa Community Hub from 2pm-4pm to explore the potential for starting up a Sight Loss Club in the area. We are looking for as many voices as possible to shape this group, so why not pop in for a chat. Free tea and coffee will be available!
IT Classes are on as usual on Tuesday from 1pm-3pm, and 3pm-5pm, Thursday 1pm-3pm (this is a college class with no spaces at present), and Friday 1pm-3pm.
