On Monday our Knit and Natter Group will be making their move back to the halls! We will still be maintaining social distancing so will be taking over two halls instead of just one. The knit and natter group meets from 1pm-3pm, anyone who likes to knit, crochet, or just come along for a blether is very welcome! No group cost, refreshments can be purchased from the café. An interpreter is also available for this group.
Our Talk and Sign Group will be heading to Jupiter Garden Project on Monday evening from 7pm-9pm. We will be getting a tour of the centre and then be doing some bramble picking and bread making around a campfire!
Voices Off will be back this week from 6.30pm-7.30pm for another session of conversational BSL. This is not a qualification but a chance to learn some basic BSL or brush up on your skills. The Book Group will be trying out their first Hybrid session on Tuesday from 10am-11am. We will be meeting in the halls with a few of the group still joining via zoom where we will be chatting about our latest book ‘Restless’ by William Boyd. This group is open to all, we source our books from RNIB books and we meet on the third Tuesday of every month.
Sara has her Energy Redress Drop-in session on Wednesday from 10am-1pm, this is open to anyone who would like to learn more about climate challenge and what this means, or if you’d like advice on ways you can save energy or help with your bills. Sara is here to help! No need to make an appointment but feel free to get in touch with Sara for more information at saraburns@forthvalleysensorycentre.org. Sara is also running her next Green Café this Wednesday from 2.30pm-4pm, register your interest now!
The BSL OAP group will be meeting on Wednesday for their weekly session from 12.30pm-2.30pm.
Scottish Slimmers will also be back on Wednesday, running from 5pm-7pm. Please contact your local Scottish Slimmers rep for more information.
The IT Classes will be back with Tom Paterson on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday this week, from 1pm-3pm, and an additional 3pm-5pm slot on Tuesdays. Please note that numbers are limited for these classes so please contact Linsey for availability. These classes aim to boost confidence in using PC’s and Tablets and their accessibility features. Classes cost £5.
The Braveheart Group will me meeting for their weekly walk from the Sensory Garden at 11.30am. This is a leisurely walk around the local area that lasts 40-60 minutes and is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
On Friday our Youth Group will be meeting from 7pm-8.30pm where we will be having a seed planting workshop in the Kitchen Garden with Forth Environment Link. Our Youth Group is open to 10-14 year olds, please note after this week the Youth Group will be moving to the earlier time of 6pm-7.15pm. Our brand new gaming group for 15-18 year olds will be starting from the 8th October from 7.30pm-9pm, contact Linsey now to register interest!
Also on Friday evening the Deaf Club will be meeting in the halls from 7pm-10pm.
