A reminder that we will be having a ‘Welcome Back’ Garden Party on 12th August 2021 from 12.30pm-3pm, we will have information stalls on Groups, Employability and our Energy Redress Project. There will be a tombola and hamper raffle too! It will cost £2 for food and drink. If you are interested in coming along please contact Rowan at rowanferguson@forthvalleysensorycentre.org.
Our art group will be meeting on Wednesday, this is another trial session for anyone who would like to join the bigger group when we are able to start back in August. Come along and try some of the different arts and crafts that we have on offer! Class costs £5 for materials, and is led by our art tutor Val Martin.
Thursday and Friday we will have our Youth Group back for week four of our Summer Programme. Running weekly from 11am-2pm on Thursdays and Fridays this group is open to 10-18 year olds and there is no need to have attended previous sessions. This week we will be doing a nature walk and potion making with Fortuna Botanica at Callendar House, and on Friday we will be trying our hand at tie-dying! This group has no cost and lunch is included.
Friday also sees the Braveheart walk leaving from the centre for their usual weekly walk from the sensory garden at 11.30am. This is a leisurely walk around the local area that lasts 45-60 minutes, suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
On Saturday our Talk and Sign Group will be meeting for a walk from South Queensferry over the bridge to North Queensferry and back 10am. We even plan on having a picnic too, hopefully the good weather will be in our favour!
We will also be having a Summer Quiz a week on Friday. Hosted by Laura Cluxton, and husband Joe, this will be happening on 30th July from 7pm-8.30pm on Zoom. We will send out invites nearer the time.
