Volunteers’ Week 2021

Next week, 1st – 7th June 2021 sees the start of the annual Volunteers’ Week, a Scotland-wide celebration and thank you to that most wonderful of people – the volunteer!

Here at Forth Valley Sensory Centre, as at many other charity organisations, we could not do what we do, groups, classes, fundraising, outings and so much more, without our volunteer army. So, we will be joining in the celebrations this week too.

Watch out for a new edition of Live with Laura to kick off the week followed by our virtual volunteer thank you event on 3rd June. For the weekend, we are bringing in a touch of class and culture with a fantastic poem by Lawson Eades and we hope to round out the week with a final thank you on 7th June.

Volunteer Co-ordinator, Caroline Storey said:

“Normally our volunteer thank you event is a real jewel in the crown. It is the day when our volunteers, normally at the back, helping out and quietly getting on with things are brought centre stage. Like many things this year, we have had to move online for safety but, we are still planning a personal thank you event later in the year so all is not lost!

“This is and will be a week of celebration and thanks. We invest a lot in our volunteers because we appreciate the time and effort they invest in us. We know it is appreciated by all our Centre Users and staff too so please, do join us in giving a big cheer to our fantastic volunteers!”
