Talk and Sign Group Bowled Over

We like to take a closer look at our various groups once in a while and this week it is the turn of the Talk and Sign Group.

Meeting in the evening on the third Monday of each month, this drop in group is for over 18’s and is open to D/deaf, hard of hearing and BSL Users who want to socialise and have a good laugh with others.

Interpreters are on hand to help out and help the conversation but there is no need to be an expert BSL user. The cost is also minimal, with a typical £1 nominal fee although some activities may attract additional costs.

The group has regular activities and outings. One of the most recent was to the local 10 pin bowling centre and everyone had a great time. Don’t take our word for it though, here’s what the attendees had to say:

Happy to be here at the bowling tonight as my family are included within the deaf community. The group benefits everyone to be involved and see how we communicate differently. It’s good to see and I am happy to be involved.
