Visitors to the Sensory Garden at Forth Valley Sensory Centre will benefit from a £1000 contribution from Briggs Equipment UK following a generous donation.
The company has offices in Cumbernauld but counts many Falkirk businesses amongst the customer base and plenty of Forth Valley residents amongst the staff. Briggs Equipment Divisional Director Billy Allison was keen to find a local charity to support and settled on the Centre after hearing about the recent vandalism from fundraiser, Natalie Cliff.
Billy explained:
“We are a very CSR focused company and I know that with a strong connection to Falkirk and Forth Valley this was a cause our staff would rally behind.
“We are delighted to be supporting the Centre and the Sensory Garden. We look forward to visiting in the near future and seeing the results of the planned investment first hand.”
The Sensory Garden is set for a dramatic makeover following a number of donations since the garden was damaged.
Lynne Frail, Fundraising Coordinator at Forth Valley Sensory Centre said:
“The response following the damage was amazing and we will be investing every penny in the Sensory Garden which has been a great community resource for over ten years. We know that this money from Briggs Equipment will make a real difference to young and old whether they have a sensory impairment or are just looking for a nice community space to visit.”
Jacquie Winning, Centre Manager added:
“We are delighted to receive this donation from Briggs Equipment. It was a pleasure to meet Billy and his team and accept the money on behalf of our Centre Users.
“We are always on the lookout for new fundraisers and we would also like to thank Natalie Cliff for bringing our story to the attention of Billy and his staff.”
