American Style Pancakes

six parcels of dough and a rolling pin with flour

It’s pancake day! You know what that means? Pancakes for every meal! No? Well, I for one, am going to have crepes with nutella and banana at some point today–yum!

Anyway, for today please enjoy our Group Coordinator’s recipe for fluffy American Style Pancakes, she realised while filming that it wasn’t fully accessible as a recipe so there is an adapted version mentioned that should yield similar results! If you’d like to share anything you make with us, please tag us on Social Media, we’d love to see what you come up with.

For this recipe you will need:

1 cup milk (you can use any milk here, it doesn’t have to be cow’s milk!)
1 cup self-raising flour
2 tbsp caster sugar
1 tsp baking power (if doing adapted recipe)
1 egg (separate if making meringue, whole if doing adapted recipe.)
Any other flavourings you’d like to add, I added peanut butter and chocolate spread!

Our NHS Funded Rehis Elementary Cooking Programme has been developed with our deafBlind cook, David Black. This five week course is open to anyone who would like to develop confidence and skills in the kitchen though has been adapted for people with sight loss. If you’d be interested in joining our waitlist for when we are able to return to the centre, please get in touch with Linsey at linseystocks@forthvalleysensorycentre.org.

Many thanks to Zoe Lane for her BSL translation.
