David Black’s Personal Safety Classes are now open for new students. Classes start this August at 2pm and cost just £20 for eight lessons.
The course covers a whole range of hints and tips for staying safe in public. Please note, you will be taught how to get away from an attacker, but this is not a martial arts course. It is self defence with a real focus on Personal Safety; it is about boosting confidence and staying safe with some simple ideas.
Suitable for all ages and open to anyone who wants to come along, there is no need to be sensory impaired to take part in the course. It is designed for all abilities and could help anyone who is concerned about an attack either at work or in public.
Over the eight weeks, you will learn with David:
– Voice control and confusing an attacker
– Easy ways to fend off a person who has grabbed your clothes or body
– What to do if you think someone is following you
– How to create precious seconds to get away from an attacker or for help to arrive
David is fully qualified and insured by the British Association of Martial Arts and has featured in a number of news stories over recent weeks. It was developed by Alan Bell at The Scottish Centre for Personal Safety who trained David for his qualification and has already had a number of very pleased graduates.
To find out more about the course, why it was set up and what the aims are, you can watch (or listen to) the story on the BBC website here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/disability-40193639/one-blind-man-s-self-defence-crusade
