We are looking for volunteers to take part in two upcoming events on behalf of the Centre. The first is the kiltwalk on 17th September in Edinburgh, the second is the Great Scottish Run on 30th September and 1st October in Glasgow.
The kiltwalk is one of Scotland’s biggest charity events and this year it is even more attract. The Hunter Foundation, set up by Sir Tom Hunter, Scotland’s first home grown billionaire, will top up funds raised by 40 per cent. That means if you raise £100 the Centre will receive £140!
There are a number of options from the marathon 26 mile ‘Mighty Stride’ to the 12 mile ‘Big Stroll’ and the family friendly five mile ‘Wee Wander’. For more details please see http://www.thekiltwalk.co.uk/events/edinburgh/ The Centre will cover entry fees in return for a commitment to raising enough sponsorship.
If wandering along isn’t you thing then what about a 10k or half marathon? If you need a bit of motivation to get the best out of the summer? Why not train for one of Scotland’s best known amateur runs and raise money for the Centre at the same time? The Great Scottish Run takes place in Glasgow over a Saturday and Sunday so there is plenty of time to get ready to run http://greatscottishrun.com/
We’ll support your fundraising efforts through our website and social media, plus we’ll give you a branded t-shirt to run in. All we ask is you do your best and raise a few quid!
If you are wanting something to help motivate your fitness or kick start your couch to 10k dreams, then this is it! Contact Lynne for more information or to sign up.
