Calling all Daredevils! We have a great opportunity to do something fun and exciting and raise money for the Centre at the same time. We have the chance to arrange a Firewalk, with an evening of art, soul searching and meditation beforehand and culminating in walking over the hot coals.
We need 20 people to make it worthwhile. Also, the insurance for these things is very high so we’d need people to commit to raising a minimum of £120 this is based on a cost per person of £70 for the evening.
What do you get for your money? Well the fire is lit several hours before the walk and the organiser talks you through the history of Fijian fire ceremonies .You will make models or do art about your own personal goals and objectives and build up to the challenge of walking over the coals. The eventual Firewalk represents you taking on the challenges in your life and making a resolve to achieve your aims.
This is about a spiritual experience and is designed to make sure you are mentally prepared before you walk over the hot coals.
Please let friends or family and even colleagues that might be interested in taking part know about the Firewalk. If we get the numbers, we’ll liaise with the organiser for a suitable date and location in the autumn to make sure that everyone has enough time to raise the funds.
If you have any questions, or would like to register your interest then please contact Martin at the Centre or see our Facebook page.
