Our BPS Social Group had a fantastic outing to Loch Katrine this week and had plenty of fun despite the poor weather.
Everyone enjoyed sailing on the Loch, sailing on the Sir Walter Scott steamship and dining in the restaurant. Wet weather added to the mystery and atmosphere but also encouraged the dreaded Scottish midge which hunts in lage packs in these areas at this time of year.
The BPS Social Group is meets forthnightly on a Monday morning from 10:30am to 12pm. It is for people with a visual impairment, who enjoy socialising. The group love quizzes and has regular entertainers, guest speakers, singers and of course, trips out for lunch. There is a £1.50 charge which covers the costs of tea and coffee/refreshments with additional costs for bigger journeys.
If you would be interested in joining the group or want any more information on any of our social activities, please contact Brenda at the Centre. For more on Loch Katrine and the steamship Sir Walter Scott, see their website at www.lochkatrine.com
