Our Good Friday ‘Pub Quiz’ was wonderfully attended raising £330 for our groups and activities! A massive thanks to all who took part and to organisers Laura and Joe who put on a fantastic evening!
The quiz featured eight rounds of five questions and included geography, history (including a fiendish “which came first?” round) as well as general knowledge.
The eventual winners were an international team (ok one of them in in England) of Carl and Lewis who amassed an amazing 39 points. The runners up, decided by tie break after they both posted a 34 score was the Stocks and Mason team, followed by the Feeneys! Carl and Lewis promptly donated their £25 prize, made possible by the Inner Wheel Club of Falkirk, back to the Centre, a wonderful touch.
Fundraising Manager and mid-table point scorer Martin Allen commented: “This was the first time we have done something like this and we were really impressed with the way it went. The event was totally accessible with Laura and Joe making sure everyone had a good chance of scoring and our Deaf Centre users being supported by a professional sign language interpreter.
“Brilliant gesture from our winners too. Look out for more events, games and competitions coming up over the next few months!”

The Quiz Night was the brainchild of Laura, one of our blind Centre Users and a member of our Fundraising Group as well as a trustee on our board. We are always looking for now members of the Fundraising Group to help us come up with new ideas and help us reach new audiences. The group meets on the last Monday of each month for 90 minutes.
