Our Group Coordinator might be off enjoying herself in New York, but activities at the centre must still go on! Our Café Tiki is open to the public Monday-Friday 9am-3pm so why not pop in for a spot of tea and cake. Our Sensory Garden is also open every weekday 9am-5pm.
Our Lip-reading class is back Monday evening from 4pm-6pm. This class will run this week and then next then take a shot break where it will return to a change of day to Wednesday at the same time from 5th October. If you’d like more information about Lip reading please get in touch.
Voices Off British Sign Language Class is back on Monday from 6.30pm-7.30pm, this is an informal BSL practice session for all levels of signers including complete beginners. If you’d like more information on this class please contact Allan Simpson at allan.simpson@falkirk.gov.uk.
Please note that the Thursday Voices Off class led by the centre is cancelled, we will return on the 15th September.
The IT Classes are running on their usual sessions. These run Tuesday 1pm-3pm and 3pm-5pm, Thursday 1pm-3pm (college only, this class is closed to new interest at present), and Friday 1pm-3pm. We will have spaces on our Tuesday and Friday classes for anyone who would like to learn more about computers, tablets and phones and their accessibility features. Class costs £5 for fully supported expert tutelage. Interpreter can be provided on request.
On Thursday the Braille Class will return from 10.30am-12pm. This class is led by tutor Christine Moroney and runs weekly term time.
The Braveheart Group will be leaving the centre for their usual walk from the centre at 11.30am on Friday. This is a leisurely walk around the local area that lasts approx 45-60 minutes with the option to pop into Cafe Tiki for some lunch and a cuppa afterwards. Sighted Guides provided if necessary.
On Friday there will be NO Youth Group. We will return on the 9th September.
The Deaf Club will return on Friday from 7pm-10pm as usual.
