It’s our last week before we close for Christmas! We will be open until Friday 23rd December at 1pm, and will be closed until 4th January, when we will be back at our usual time of 9am. We have quite a few things coming up, and if you were lucky enough to win one of our three hampers be sure to come in and collect before we close our doors!
On Monday our Choir will be making their last performance of the year at Morrisons Falkirk from 10.30am. They have a musical medly of Christmas Songs at the ready so be sure to come along and pay us a visit! This group will return on 16th January at 10.30am, and normally costs £5.
Our Voices Off British Sign Language class is on this evening from 6.30pm-7.30pm. This is a laidback class that is open to all, whether you are just beginning or you would like to practice what you know. The Talk and Sign Group is back this Monday from 7pm-9pm. We will be doing wreath-making with Val, our wonderful Art Tutor, and having a little mini Christmas Celebration where you can bring bits to share! This group meets on the third Monday of each month and does a range of different activities.
On Tuesday our book group will be meeting to discuss their last book of the year, they will be chatting about The Lady in Waiting by Anne Glenconner. We will then be having a little christmas celebration afterwards. This group meets on the third Tuesday of each month, meet in a hybrid format of online and in person, and source their books from RNIB talking books and local library services.
Our IT Classes will be on their usual sessions. These run Tuesday 1pm-3pm and 3pm-5pm, Thursday 1pm-3pm (college only, this class is closed to new interest at present), and Friday 1pm-3pm. We will have spaces on our Tuesday and Friday classes for anyone who would like to learn more about computers, tablets and phones and their accessibility features. Class costs £5 for fully supported expert tutelage. Interpreter can be provided on request.
On Wednesday, our Art Group will be meeting form 1.15pm-3.15pm. Led by art tutor Val Martin this group mostly do tactile art pieces but are open to a range of different art styles. This group meets fortnightly and costs £5. An interpreter is available for this session. This group will return on 11th January.
Also on Wednesday, Slimming World will be meeting from 5pm-8pm. Drop in is available. For more information on this group please contact Sandra on 07803 172441.
Thursday the Braille Class will return from 10.30am-12pm. This class is led by tutor Christine Moroney and runs weekly term time.
The centre will close at 1pm on Friday, there will be no Youth Group or Deaf Club on this evening.
