Our monthly Wednesday group for people with a visual or hearing impairment were treated to a talk on coffee of the world from our supplier Matthew Algie.
Attendees at the ‘Hot Shots’ event, were also able to try our delicious fruit smoothies plus the fruit and herbal teas on offer in Cafe Tiki.
Group Co-ordinator Brenda laid on some home baking for an event which tickled everyone’s tastebuds.
Matthew Algie are the fairtrade supplier to Cafe Tiki and this was a chance for everyone to taste different coffees from around the world, ones which they might not normally purchase, and hear more about how they are grown and sustainably produced.
The event was led by David Fowler from Matthew Algie who said: “If someone says they don’t like coffee it is simply because they haven’t found a coffee they like. Events like this give people a chance to appreciate the rich flavours and smells of a great, fairtrade, organic coffee.”
Fruit Smoothies are a new but popular addtion to the Cafe menu and are available in a range of flavours, including ‘Strawberry Split’ a fantastic blend of stawberry and banana. Cafe Tiki also has a range of fruit and herbal teas avaialble and will be potentially adding a new coffee blend as a direct result of feedback from this event. Cafe Tiki is your cafe and we are always keen to get your ideas and suggestions.
