Blind Centre User and Trustee, Terry Robinson is set to take on the Virtual Kiltwalk this weekend to raise money for Forth Valley Sensory Centre.
Taking place from 23rd to 25th April, The Virtual Kiltwalk is the Covid-19 safe version on one of Scotland’s most popular fundraising initiatives. Walkers are encouraged to set their own targets and walk safely in their local communities instead of at the large, organised events that The Kiltwalk normally puts on.
Terry will be walking around his local park and is hoping to cover at least 15 miles. He will be guided by just his white cane and his great memory of the route. as this is The Kiltwalk, all donations will receive a 50 percent top up from The Hunter Foundation so a £10 donation means the Centre gets £15.
Fundraising Manager, Martin Allen said:
“This is brilliant of Terry to undertake another walk on behalf of the Centre. He is one of our biggest supporters and even having recently celebrated his 70th birthday, shows no signs of slowing down! All we can hope is that the weather holds out for him and he has a safe walk.”
You can add your support for Terry at his special Kiltwalk page here.
Terry is also a member of our monthly Fundraising Group which brings Centre Users and members of the public together to come up with new fundraising initiatives and make sure we only fundraise for the things our Centre Users need to live as confidently and independently as possible.
Fundraising can be done for specific items or groups but all community fundraising supports our classes and activities for blind, partially sighted, deaf and hard of hearing people across Forth Valley.
