Summer BBQ Success

Our Summer BBQ went with a bang as the weather came out for a great day. The Sensory Garden was packed with Centre Users, staff, partners and fellow charities for a delicious afternoon.

The usual adage is you can tell it is summer in Scotland because the rain gets warmer! However, the rain held off and everyone was able to enjoy burgers, hotdogs and pizza.

The Centre would like to thank our volunteers, plus; Forth Environment Link, Morrisons Falkirk, Patricks of Camelon, Solicitors For Older People Scotland, Falkirk Delivers, Falkirk Active Travel Hub and Sustainable Thinking Scotland C.I.C from Bo’ness for all their hard work, support and donations.

The burgers were amazing too! Although this was a Summer BBQ we were delighted to welcome Forth Environment Link and Sustainable Thinking Scotland who made some amazing pizza! The team brought along a wee wood fired oven. They made their own dough and provided a ‘create your own’ service with organic, locally sourced, seasonal ingredients.

The event marked the start of our Climate Challenge Fund Project, Making Sense of Energy Saving and highlighted sustainable travel thanks to the presence of the Dr Bike team.

Watch out for more on this in the near future as we look at making climate change and carbon reduction information more accessible to people with sensory loss.
