Good news! Thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, there will be a new FVSC website very soon!
We know this site is a bit clunky for people to navigate and for those with eReaders the long blocks of text needed make it a frustrating experience so we have managed to get funding to refresh what we do online.
With the new FVSC website we hope to have a much easier to navigate site that shows off what we do and how we have supported, and continue to support, people with sight or hearing loss for over 14 years.
Centre Manager Jacquie Winning said:
“When we launched this website it was because the Centre really needed an online presence. It was a great step forward for us as more and more people with sensory loss began to use smart devices to help them in their day to day lives as well as contact us and each other.
“However, technology moves quickly and one thing that the last few months of lockdown has demonstrated more clearly than ever is that digital services are the best way for people to stay in touch when options are limited. We have already trained two digital champions to help sensory people get online, we have undertaken a training session on Amazon Fire Tablets that were made available thanks to RNIB and our new Technology Hub continues to be developed while the Centre is closed.
“With all that in mind, Forth Valley Sensory Centre must keep pace with technology and in many ways, lead the way for our Centre Users. So, get ready for the new FVSC website which will be coming to your screens shortly!”
