Our Sensory Garden is looking amazing at the moment after it was ‘yarn bombed’ by our knitting group!
Coordinated by volunteer Margaret Howie, the yarn bombing has seen a huge amount of knitting added to the Sensory Garden, covering benches, fences, even tress. Perhaps the most impressive are the outfits for our tinman and tinlady who are looking absolutely resplendant!
In addition to this, we have lots of other knitted items, from tea cosies, to decorations, blankets and scarves for the Scottish summer all for sale in our Cafe. These have been donated by different groups and people although special mention must go to Jenny from our Knit and Natter group who donated a large amount of items created over lockdown! To see the range, pop in to the Cafe any weekday and Carol will be happy to help!
The Knit and Natter group meets regularly and welcomes new memebers. They always seem to have a project on the go but there is definitely an emphasis on nattering rather than knitting on many occasions! This is a mixed group of people who are blind or partially sighted as well as those who are deaf or hard of hearing. BSL interpreters are provided.
