The Centre has teamed up with Braveheart, Scotland’s walking charity to set up a new, sensory Braveheart walk here in Camelon.
Supported with a BSL interpretor and sighted guides, the aim is to bring simple and gentle exercise to a section of the community who may not otherwise get to take part.
Braveheart offers a range of weekly walks for people over 50 but this will be the first time a sensory element has been introduced.
Martin Allen, Partnership Manager at the Centre said:
“One of the aims of the Centre is to make activites more accessible for people with a sensory impairment. The Braveheart walk is a great example of that. Regular exercise is important to everyone and this offers a safe, guided walk with as much emphasis on social activity as physical.
“Numbers are limited for safety reasons so please contact the Centre if you would like to take part.”
The walk will begin at 11am and last for approximately one hour covering well laid paths in the local area. Walkers are requested to arrive at 10:45am with suitable clothing and footwear. More information on Braveheart can be found on their website.
