Cafe Tiki has officially recieved the Healthy Living certificate at a recent ceremony. This marks out our social enterprise Cafe as one of Falkirk’s healthiest eating spots!
The combination of homemade food, fresh fruit and the distinct lack of chips with everything meant that Cafe Tiki easily met the criteria.
Cafe Manager Sara Robertson and Cook, David Black, travelled to Trades Hall in Glasgow to pick up the certificate.
Sara commented:
“Getting this Healthy Living Award is about recognising what we do here each and every day. It is hard work maintaining a Cafe and especially trying to offer something a little bit different or outside the normal. However, each day, David makes fantasitc fresh soups and a special, we ensure that we don’t over season or use saturated fats wherever possible. We have lots of home baking courtesy of Erin, Linda and Lee too alongside our fresh fruit. This award recognises the standards that we set ourselves.
“It is good to have the official recognition and it was a great day out for David and I.”
Cafe Tiki is open 9am to 4pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday with a 3pm finish on Tuesday and Thursday. Our Cafe is a social enterprise and is regularly staffed with volunteer support.
If you want to come down and try out our fresh food, you can now get a portion of David’s delicious soups and a freshly made sandwich with your favourite filling for a bargain £3.50!
