Are you a BSL User living in Scotland who has previously enjoyed the traditional game of Curling? If so, Scottish Curling would like to invite you to take part in an interesting project.
Below, there is a BSL video from our student Zoe which explains all. Essentially, the aim is to create a new BSL dictionary with specific signs to support players as these do not exist. This is your chance to make a bit of history.
If BSL is your first language and you would like to take part, then please contact us sensory@forthvalleysensorycentre.org or leave us a comment below. All our other contact details are here.
The deadline is short though, please contact us by Friday 26th January! Get writing in!
English Translation of the clip:
Hello! Are you Deaf and interested in Curling? Would you like to get involved in an exciting new project? Here at FV Sensory Centre we are working with two other organisations – Heriot Watt University and Scottish Curling Trust, as well as the Deaf community, to research and establish BSL Curling signs. If you are experienced in the sport and would like to get involved, please contact us in the comments below. Thank you!
