Montana shows care for sensory garden

Family owned Montana Home Care based on Grahams Road in Falkirk has made a £1000 contribution to the rebuilding of the garden at Forth Valley Sensory Centre.

The funds will go directly towards the Sensory Garden and contribute to new plants, equipment and activities for people all across Falkirk. The money was handed over to Centre Manager Jacquie Winning by Montana Home Care Managing Director Helen Smith.

The Centre was also invited to speak at a team meeting promoting a new, free carers group and discussing the other support available in Falkirk for people with hearing or visual problems.

Helen commented:
“We support a number of different charities and we like to keep it local. We have clients who have used the Centre with some great results, giving them social interaction and help they wouldn’t get elsewhere and we are more than happy to be able to donate this money.”

Jacquie Winning added:
“We are so grateful to Helen and her team for this donation. It was especially nice to come in and address the staff who see people each day that are managing a sensory condition. We know that social interaction is one of the best things to raise overall wellbeing which is why our work is so important. Having the Montana Home Care staff help spread the message of what is on offer here is amazing.”

The Centre runs a number of groups and activities for Blind and Partially Sighted, Deaf, Deafened and hard of hearing people. A registered charity, the Centre relies on donations from the public and corporates as well as a large number of volunteers. See our donations page for more details on how to add your support to the Forth Valley Sensory Centre.
