A quieter week ahead this week as our Group Coordinator is on annual leave! Never fear, however, we still have a bunch of activities happening in her absence. Please note that the centre will be closing earlier on Thursday 30th September at 3.30pm as we bid Volunteer Coordinator Caroline her last adieu!
On Monday Voices Off will be back from 6.30pm-7.30pm for another session of conversational BSL. This is not a qualification but a chance to learn some basic BSL or brush up on your skills. The IT Classes will be back with Tom Paterson on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday this week, from 1pm-3pm, and an additional 3pm-5pm slot on Tuesdays. Please note that numbers are limited for these classes so please contact Linsey for availability. These classes aim to boost confidence in using PC’s and Tablets and their accessibility features. Classes cost £5.
Wednesday our Art Group will be back in the tech hub from 1.15pm-3.15pm. Led by art tutor Val, the group costs £5 for materials, we try out many different art forms many of these tactile and adapted for visual impairments. We will also be welcoming Mark from Camelon Arts this week as they have a new project to introduce to our group!
Sara has her Energy Redress Drop-in session on Wednesday from 10am-1pm, this is open to anyone who would like to learn more about climate challenge and what this means, or if you’d like advice on ways you can save energy or help with your bills. The BSL OAP group will also be meeting for their weekly session on Wednesday from 12.30pm-2.30pm.
Slimming World will also be back on Wednesday, running from 5pm-7pm. Please contact your local Slimming World rep for more information.
The Braille class will be meeting for their weekly session on Thursday from 10.30am-12pm. If you are interested in learning how to read and write braille, this college class could be the one for you! Get in touch for more information.
The Braveheart Association will be meeting for their weekly walk from the Sensory Garden at 11.30am. This is a leisurely walk around the local area that lasts 40-60 minutes and is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
Also on Friday evening the Deaf Club will be meeting in the halls from 7pm-10pm.
