On Monday our Knit and Natter group will be meeting for a session in the café from 1pm-3pm. If you like knitting or crocheting, or would just like to come in for a blether our group is open to all!
Also on Monday the Voices Off Café is back for their weekly evening session of conversational BSL from 6.30pm-7.30pm. If you’d like to learn some BSL basics or brush up on your signing please contact Allan for more information at allan.simpson@forthvalleysensorycentre.org.
On Tuesday our Tinnitus Group will be meeting for their first in person session! We will be having a talk from Caroline Ralph from NHS Audiology and ENT team, she is a tinnitus specialist and will be giving some information and advice to the group. The tinnitus peer support group meets monthly on the first Tuesday of the month from 12pm-1pm.
The IT Classes will be back with Tom Paterson on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday this week, from 1pm-3pm, and an additional 3pm-5pm slot on Tuesdays. Please note that numbers are limited for these classes so please contact Linsey for availability. These classes aim to boost confidence in using PC’s and Tablets and their accessibility features. Classes cost £5.
Wednesday sees the in-person return of our History Group too! We’ll be taking a trip out to the Smith Art Gallery in Stirling for a tour with Heather Carroll who will be telling us all about art history. This group runs from 11am-12pm and an interpreter is provided for this group.
Sara has her Energy Redress Drop-in session on Wednesday from 10am-1pm, this is open to anyone who would like to learn more about climate challenge and what this means, or if you’d like advice on ways you can save energy or help with your bills. Sara is here to help! No need to make an appointment but feel free to get in touch with Sara for more information at saraburns@forthvalleysensorycentre.org.
Also on Wednesday our BSL OAP group is back in the halls for their weekly session from 12.30pm-2.30pm. This group is a friendly BSL group that love a blether and a bit of bingo!
Our Braille class is on this Thursday from 10.30am-12pm. If you’d be interested in learning how to read and write braille please get in touch with Linsey. This class is limited in number due to space available.
Friday sees our usual weekly activities of Braveheart walk leaving the centre at 11.30am for their walk around the local area. The youth group will be meeting from 7pm-8.30pm, we will be playing games and getting ready for our trip to Broomlee on Saturday! And lastly, but certainly not least, the Deaf Club will be meeting from 7pm-10pm on Friday too.
