Firstly a reminder to all that it is a public holiday today (Monday 3rd May 2021) and the café will be closed. However, the café will be open Tuesday to Friday so you can still come in for a cuppa and a slice of cake!

As it is Deaf Awareness week this week we will be sharing some Deaf Awareness tips across our social media platforms and on our website. We are also delighted to invite our Lip reading tutor Jill Bradshaw for a chat with our latest ‘Live with Laura’ podcast, she will be chatting to us about how she became a lip reader, what led her to become a tutor, and some of the barriers that Deaf and Hard of Hearing people encounter due to the pandemic.

HSBC are offering an online webinar called ‘Together Against Fraud’ on Zoom on Friday 7th May at 2pm. This is open to anyone in the community. The information to join is: Webinar ID: 915 5588 4113, Webinar Passcode: 963697. If you’d rather phone in the number is: 02034815237.

On Friday the braveheart association have their weekly walk setting off from the Sensory Garden at 11.30am. This is a leisurely walk for 45-60 minutes around the local area and is open to anyone. Why not pop along, have a walk, and then have a wee visit to our café?

Also on Friday we have our Youth Group, we are working with Falkirk Community Learning and Development team on some new arts projects. We are delighted to be able to invite the Youth Group back to an in-person group, please note that numbers are limited due to the space available and restrictions in please, however we will happily welcome any 12-18 year olds who would like to join us.

As always, if you’d like to join any of our groups or would like more information please contact Linsey at linseystocks@forthvalleysensorycentre.org.
