Green fingers for Carillion team

The Sensory Garden was recently given a bit of a boost by a team from international support services and construction business Carillion. Staff, took some time out to weed flower beds, plant new flowers and herbs as well as give the garden a wee spruce up.

The work was part of a longer term plan to increase the number of activities in the garden and get weeds under control during the summer months.

Volunteer co-ordinator Vicki Ferguson said:

“There is still plenty to do in the garden but this has made an immediate impact. The new flowers and plants look great and we know that visitors will really value the high level beds enabling those with mobility issues to get up close to some lovely herbs and other plants.

“We are still looking for more people to help with the garden and have some big plans to revitalise what is on offer so if you think you can help, either as an individual with a gardening background and some time to spare, or as a company, please get in touch.”
