Sign Language Interactions currently provide service level agreements with a number of local authorities and NHS Health Boards, including Falkirk Council and NHS Forth Valley.
Sign Language Interactions is a well-established company with a proven track record of service delivery within the public, private and voluntary sector. In addition to providing communication support services, we also have experience in working with health boards, local authorities and other organisations to scope out local needs, pilot and deliver services. We undertake service level agreements and can offer a 24-hour service. We also welcome other types of enquires, such as for block bookings or one-off appointments.
BSL/English Interpreters we assign to your requests are registered with either SASLI or NRCPD, PVG Registered and are covered by professional indemnity insurance. They are also required to follow our strict code of conduct and abide by the SASLI/NRCPD professional code of conduct, which provides guidance on the handling of confidential and sensitive information. We can also provide Deafblind Interpreters, Electronic notetakers and Lipspeakers.
SLI is also an agency registered member of Scottish Association of Sign Language Interpreters. SASLI has a Chartermark for registered agencies, the Chartermark is an indication that the agencies have met SASLI’s quality assurance standards.
Sign Language Interactions provide the Scottish Government’s national (24 hours a day and 7 days a week) BSL interpreting video relay service ‘contactSCOTLAND-BSL’.
contactSCOTLAND-BSL provides telephone access to civil and civic society by means of a downloadable app or via a web-browser which connects using video to an online BSL/English interpreter who in turn relays the call to the given number. Calls include Government to Garages, from Health Centres to Hairdressers or from Charities to Childcare services the opportunities are endless.
Service providers can call back a Deaf BSL user via the service by calling 0131 510 4555 and asking for the person by name or be extension number.
