Worried about your fuel costs? Want to reduce your energy use? Come along to our free Energy Saving information session on the 27th September, 10am -12pm, at Forth Valley Sensory Centre to find out how to reduce your fuel bill this winter while staying warm.
Forth Valley Sensory Centre have received funding from the Scottish Government though Greener Scotland and Keep Scotland Beautiful to deliver the Making Sense of Energy Saving project.
This offers free support to help people across the whole of Forth Valley who have sight or hearing loss to reduce their energy use, fuel costs and carbon emissions through offering accessible information through talks, workshops, accessible resources and home visits. This will include information from draught proofing their home to how to access grants to replace their heating system.
BSL Translators will be available on the day as well as support for people with sighted impairment.
The session will be led by Project Manager Kirsty Banks who has been working hard on making her energy saving advice accessible to everyone. This includes tactile demonstrations of savings and large print information.
New LED lighting has now been installed throughout the Centre as part of the Climate Challenge Fund project. Come along and see the difference for yourself with LED lights offering well lit spaces, no ‘pooling’ of light and around a 33 percent energy saving over typical energy saving bulbs. They are perfect for people with sight loss who require a consistant and high level of lighting.
