Social Security Scotland offers support with benefits and information on Governmental services. They aim to provide social security for everyone with dignity, fairness, and respect and have a Charter backed by The Social Security (Scotland) Act 2018.
The purpose of their Charter is to set out what people should expect from the new social security system, which they administer. It explains in clearer terms how they will uphold the Principles in the Act, how they will make sure that they're taking a human rights based approach to what they do and how they will demonstrate dignity, fairness and respect in all our actions.
As with everything in this new system, their Charter was created with people's input and not for them by others. They have also proactively produced their Charter in a range of accessible formats including video with British Sign Language, audio, large print, and Easy Read, available here on their website.
