A heads up that our café will be open Monday-Friday this week but will be open on reduced hours.


On Monday, Voices Off café will be back from 6.30pm-7.30pm for another session of conversational BSL. This is not a qualification but a chance to learn some basic BSL or brush up on your skills. If interested in learning more about this group or to register your interest please contact Allan Simpson at allan.simpson@falkirk.gov.uk.


The IT Classes will be back with Tom Paterson on Tuesday and Friday this week, from 1pm-3pm, and an additional 3pm-5pm slot on Tuesday, please note that the Thursday session will not be taking place due to Christmas Dinner. Numbers are limited for these classes so please contact Linsey for availability. These classes aim to boost confidence in using PC’s and Tablets and their accessibility features. Classes cost £5.


Also on a techy note, our Tech Hub weekly Drop In sessions are Tuesday 12pm-2pm with Peter McConnachie, Wednesday 11am-1pm with John Ormsby, and Thursday 1pm-3pm with Kyle Somerville. Peter can help with any broken or faulty equipment, John specialises in hearing support technology (such as the amplified telephones), and Kyle specialises in mobile support.


The Art and Craft group will be in for another session this Wednesday from 1.15pm-3.15pm. Led by art tutor Val Martin, we try out a range of different arts and crafts! Group costs £5 which covers materials.


Sara has her Energy Redress Drop-in session on Wednesday from 10am-1pm, this is open to anyone who would like to learn more about climate challenge and what this means, or if you’d like advice on ways you can save energy or help with your bills. Sara is here to help! No need to make an appointment but feel free to get in touch with Sara for more information at saraburns@forthvalleysensorycentre.org.


Slimming World will also be back on Wednesday, running from 5pm-7pm. Please contact your local Slimming World rep for more information.


Our fortnightly BSL Voices Off cafe is back on Thursday! Running from 11am-12pm, this is a casual BSL group to freshen up your BSL skills or start learning some! No cost for the group but tea or coffee can be purchased for £1.


The Youth Group is back this Friday for another session. We have a plethora of different activities on offer, from VR headsets and Nintendo Switch, to arts and crafts and much more. Note that we now also have a tuck shop available so bring along your pennies if you’d like some juice and snacks! This group meets weekly from 6pm-7.15pm.


The Braveheart Association will be meeting for their weekly walk from the Sensory Garden at 11.30am. This is a leisurely walk around the local area that lasts 40-60 minutes and is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.


Also on Friday evening the Deaf Club will be meeting from 7pm-10pm for their usual weekly session.

We also have boxes of lateral flow tests here at the centre for pick up, these have been provided to us by the NHS and a free to anyone who would like them.
