A wee reminder that our Sensory Room is now open to the public once again! Spaces are limited, and the room costs £5 per session. Get in touch with Rowan for more information or to book at 01324 590888.
On Monday our Knit and Natter Group will be back in the cafe for their fortnightly blether from 1pm-3pm. We are also welcoming a new volunteer to the group this week so we are excited to meet her! This group is open to anyone who likes to knit, crochet, or just have a blether (even if you can’t knit I’m sure we can help with that too!)
Also on Monday our FVSC Talk and Sign group will be having their very own mini-garden party from 7pm-8pm. This will be a pot-luck event, so bring along some food and get ready for a good ol’ catch up! We look forward to seeing the group back at the centre!
The weekly Voices Off cafe will also be in on Monday from 6.30pm-7.30pm. This is a conversational BSL group. While not an official course this group is open to anyone who would like to learn some BSL or keep practicing. To register your interest please contact Allan at allan.simpson@falkirk.gov.uk.
Our IT classes are returning this week too, these sessions will be limited in number so do get in touch if you are interested. We have classes on Tuesday 1pm-3pm and 3pm-5pm, and also Thursday & Friday from 1pm-3pm. If you have a tablet you’d like to get to grips with or would like to learn more about computing then this is the class for you! Classes are led by tutor Tom Paterson, and cost £5.
Sara will be having her weekly Energy Drop in session on Wednesday from 10am-1pm. If you need any help with your fuel bills or would like more information on any greener initiatives such as solar panels, pop in for a chat with our lovely energy redress coordinator!
The Braille Class will also be returning this week on Thursday from 10am-12pm. This is also a college class, led by Christine Moroney. If you’d be interested in learning more about writing and reading braille this is the class for you. Numbers are limited, get in touch for more information.
On Friday our Youth Group will be back, and we are going for a session at Jupiter Urban Wildlife Centre where we will be doing pond dipping and nature crafts! The youth group, in conjunction with Falkirk – Community Learning & Development is open to 10-14 year olds, and runs weekly from 7pm-8.30pm.
Also on Friday is the much anticipated return of our Deaf Club! Running weekly from 7pm-10pm, please note that social distancing will be remaining in place and numbers may be limited to accommodate this.
The Braveheart Association will be leaving for their usual weekly walk from the Sensory Garden at 11.30am. This is a leisurely walk around the local area that lasts 45-60 minutes and is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
As usual if you’d like any more information on any of our groups and classes, please get in touch with Linsey at linseystocks@forthvalleysensorycentre.org, or phone at 01324 590888.
Have a great week!
