A look inside the low vision clinic

NHS Forth Valley alongside Falkirk Council and Stirling Council provide low vision clinics within the sensory centre. These clinics were set up following a Scottish Executive Eye Care Review in 2006 and  are fully staffed by an Ophthalmologist, Optometrist, Orthoptist, Ophthalmic Nurse and a member of staff from Sensory Services Social Work team.

Why visit the clinic?

Attending the low vision clinic will provide a very accurate understanding of an individual’s level of residual vision, advice on better use of vision and the best optical or electronic aids.” People are referred to the low vision clinic by their GP but if you or a member of your family from Falkirk or Stirling, feels they would benefit from an assessment, then please contact the Social Services team to arrange an appointment.
