Forth Valley Sensory Centre
Part of Book Week Scotland taking place 19-25th November, we are delighted to say the Falkirk Libraries is bringing author Maggie Craig along to the Centre.
Maggie will be telling tales of Falkirk’s Rebels as well as talking about her life and work.
Known for her historical novels, including the Gathering Storm and When The Clyde Ran Red, Maggie has been enthralling readers for years and this is a great chance to hear one of the area’s best storytellers live and ask questions about her inspirational and style.
Tickets available from Falkirk Libraries and online through www.falkirkcommunitytrust.org/libraries
The appearance of Maggie Craig will be great for our many book loving centre users. We have a regular reading group which meets on the third Tuesday of each month with audio and large print books provided by Falkirk Libraries. Like any other book club, the group reads a variety of different genres and styles, including many books that they might otherwise have not thought to pick up.
Come along 10am to 11am, meet some like minded people who also have sight loss and expand your cultural horizons! Centre User Lawson Eades has already won an award for her poetry. You might be next!
As well as the visit of Maggie Craig to Forth Valley Sensory Centre, there will be a week of different activities to celebrate Book Week Scotland which takes place 19th – 25th November. There will be lots of videos online from top authors and even a live streamed poetry slam! Check out www.bookweekscotland.com and support on twitter with #bookweekscotland
