Staff & Directors

Our Board includes a number of Centre Users ensuring that the Centre is always in tune with the needs of the community it serves.

At present there are four Centre users on the board which meets quarterly. We also hold an AGM and open meeting annually.  If you would like more details on attending, please contact us.

We are proud to have service users represented at board level. The Centre has always been guided by the needs of the different communities that use it.We are currently looking for a volunteer treasurer to join us in a trustee position. You can find out more about this vacancy here

Our constituted Centre User Group meets bi-monthly and there are currently 11 group members who actively represent the Centre groups. This group is chaired by Maureen Smith. New members are welcome. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Centre User Group please contact Jacquie Winning.

Forth Valley Sensory Centre is an equal opportunities employer. We endevour to make sure that our Centre Users are accurately reflected in the skills of our team. A third of our team have a sensory impairment.

All staff undertake sighted guide training to ensure they are able to welcome and assist our Centre Users in the best way possible. We also have a number of BSL users in our staff team and all staff are encouraged to learn basic BSL.

Centre User Group

Our Centre User group meets bi-monthy on the last Tuesday of the Month – Jan/Mar/May/July/Sept/Nov

This constituted group consists of 11 members who represent the activity groups which the Centre runs. Group members are encouraged to seek feedback from people who attend the groups and to bring ideas, comments and proposals to the Centre User Group.

Information from the Centre User Group is shared at Board meetings by our Centre User Board representatives. Minutes of the Group are recorded and shared with members for feedback to the wider community of Centre Users. We are currently looking for additional Centre User representatives to join our group. Fundraising Committee

The Centre also has a dedicated group of Centre Users who are actively involved in fundraising. Our Fundraising Committee meets monthly to plan and organise a wide variety of different events.

Importantly, the Committee is drawn from across our various sensory groups, including; Blind and Partially Sighted, Deaf, BSL speakers and hard of hearing people. This means that each person can bring something different to the table and fundraising can be focused on delivering against specific needs for each part of our community.
