Forth Valley Sensory Centre
Our Sensory Strollers chalked off another great fundraising event on Sunday, completing the Edinburgh Kiltwalk! We had walkers in every section of the Edinburgh Kiltwalk from the Wee Wander to the Big Stroll to the Mighty Stride.
Huge thanks to everyone who has donated and supported our walking team of Alan, Alison, Christina, David, Jacquie, Kirsty-Jane and Margaret from Asda in Falkirk who undertook the challenge on our behalf!
The weather wasn’t the best, with strong winds and frequent showers but, the team managed to stay happy and positive throughout, even stopping for a sing-a-long at one of the rest stops!
Centre manager, Jacquie Winning who covered the 15.5 mile “Big Stroll” alongside cook David Black commented:
“It wasn’t easy with the weather along an open coast but the day started off brightly and we managed to smile our way through it. Huge thanks to Margaret from Asda, walking on behalf of our Centre as well as volunteers Christina and Alan who were great company on the day. Finally,an amazing ‘well done’ to Kirsty-Jane who took on the Mighty Stride covering a massive 24 miles to raise money for our Centre Users!”
The Edniburgh Kiltwalk was the last event of the year but you can still add your support to the team here. We will be looking for more recruits for next year to take part in the Glasgow or Edinburgh Kiltwalk. Keep an eye out for more information on our website and social media. We provide free spaces and a funky Forth Valley Sensory Centre t-shirt to really give you the right look!
